Sunday school begins the Sunday after Labor Day and ends in the beginning of June. Classes are offered for children from Pre-K through 8th grade. There also is a nursery available with a crib, changing table, rocking chairs, and toys where parents can bring infants and toddlers if the need arises. There is a speaker in the nursery so the service can be heard.
The children attend the beginning of the church service with their parents. After the children’s message, they and their teachers leave the service to attend Sunday school. On the first Sunday of the month, Communion Sunday, children go directly to their classrooms.
The teachers and volunteers make our Sunday school a happy and safe place for children to learn about the Bible and God’s love. A curriculum is followed along with extra activities to help reinforce what is beginning taught. We never know when Pastor Steve might have an activity for the children to do after the service too!
One of our church school missions is to develop children’s awareness of those in need by supporting and promoting both world-wide and local missions. Heifer International is a world-wide mission that brings farm supplies to developing nations. During cupcake Sunday, children decorate and sell those cupcakes to the congregation. Those proceeds go to support our local Loaves and Fishes Program. Children also donate food and holiday items to the Enfield Food Shelf.
Christian Education also offers intergenerational activities,
Bible studies, Advent, and Lenten programs.
We’d love to have your family join ours as we learn and grow in God’s love.
